2nd kyu (Ni kyu) BROWN STRIPE BELT Requirements
1st stripe Vocabulary:
- Maai – distancing (distance between two opponents)
- Makiwara – striking board or post
- Migi – right
- Morote – two hands
- Mudansha – colored belt holder (kyu rank)
- Mune – chest
- Oi zuki – lunge punch
- Okinawa te – original Okinawa fist art
- Renshu – to train, to practice, to drill
- Seiryuto – ox jaw hand
- Shiai – contest, tournament
- Shiai jo – contest area, ring
- Shimpan – referee
- Shita – down

Physical Requirements:
2nd stripe Basics:
- Ten step drill using side step in forward seisan dachi and punch.
- Ten step drill using side step in forward seisan dachi and appropriate strikes.
3rd stripe Kicks:
- Consecutive kicking combinations
- Fake side kick to obi, roundhouse kick to head.
- Fake side kick to obi, hook kick to head.
- Roundhouse kick to obi, roundhouse kick to head.
- Roundhouse kick to obi into hook kick to head.
4th stripe Self Defense:
DUST
- Pin (Attacker on top)
- Hands held – Punch out, buck and roll and follow up
- Choke – Lever, buck out, roll and follow up
5th stripe Sparring:
Offensive:
- Wide sole sweep with near roundhouse kick (same foot).
- Wide sole sweep with wide roundhouse kick (alternate feet).
- Wide sole sweep, take down and follow up.
Defensive:
- Groin tears (may be done offensively).
6th stripe Kata:
- Pinan Yondan
6th stripe Kobudo:
- Shihonuke
