1st stripe Vocabulary:
- Oi zuki – lunge punch
- Reiken – back knuckle fist
- Seiken – forefist punch
- Shita – down
- Teisho – palm heel strike
- Shu – to learn from tradition
- Tetsui – hammer fist strike
- Tekubi – wrist
- Tobi – to jump
- Tori – person who executes technique
- Tsuke / zuki – punch or thrust
- Uke – block, defense or person who receives technique

Physical Requirements:
2nd stripe Basics:
- Review and perform all basic drills to this point at Purple Belt level.
3rd stripe Kicks:
- Yoko geri (side kick)/Reiken Uchi (backfist strike)
- Standing
- Stepping
- Fading
- Skipping
4th stripe Self defense:
DUST
- Two hand choke
- Front – Distract, spin, baseball release, elbow and follow up
- Eyes, ears, punch down, spin, lever and follow up
- Rear – Stomp, stomp, kick, spin, elbow down and follow up
- Full Nelson
- Elbows down, stomp or kick back, work fingers and follow up (awareness)
- Lock on block, stomp, groin, spin and elbows down and follow up
5th stripe Sparring:
Offensive:
- Front leg hook into near roundhouse kick (dragon tail).
- Near roundhouse kick into front leg hook kick (dragon tail).
- Fake front kick into jump front kick.
- Fake front kick into jump wide roundhouse kick.
Defensive:
- Side step and counter with punch.
- Side step and counter with kick.
6th stripe Kata:
- Anaku
- Roku Shaku Bo
